This just proves that Rodney Dangerfield is as funny in death as he was in life.
I was at the Westwood Memorial Cemetery yesterday for a funeral and knew it had a lot of famous people. Truman Capote, Eva Gabor, Janis Joplin (sort of), Jack Lemon, Dean Martin, Walter Matthau, Roy Orbison, Frank Zappa, and of course Marilyn Monroe. Hugh Hefner owns the empty plot (vault space really) next to Marilyn's. When the funeral was over I was walking to my car and found Rodney's grave. Really turned my crummy day around. I know the shadows look funny and some might say it looks photoshopped, but I swear it's unedited (besides shrinking it down), my cameraphone just sucks.

This how-to is my favorite kind of hack. They show you how to make a copy of a record (thats right VINYL baby) with some basic hardware store items. Silicon for the (reusable) base mold and some liquid plastic for the new record. It doesnt damage the original at all. You can only copy one side, and I am sure the mold would only last a few copies, but it's so simple even small children and stoners could do it.

For the past year both comments and trackbacks have been turned off here to avoid dealing with all the spam, but now that Akismet is available for MovableType and there's a fix for MT-BlackList comments and trackbacks are back on (for now at least).
Have fun!

Grating Cards are wonderfully honest greeting cards from Australia.
"Formed over a week ago, but in our hearts and minds for years, grating cards sole purpose is to offer an affordable option to the monopolised greeting card market. Why can't you tell someone they're a cunt? Hallmark don't think anyone are cunts, but we certainly do."

So this guy scammed whined on the internet for a year until people donated enough money for him to buy a G5, then blew up his G4 with a few redneck friends.

Gawker is a really cool open source application for making time-lapse video's with an iSight (or other camera's I assume), but what makes it Capworthy (yes it's a real word, look it up) is the fact that it has Bonjour network support!
"Gawker is an application for Mac OS X that creates time-lapse movies using an iSight camera. Images from your camera can be shared, allowing other users to record your image stream. Streams can also be combined to create a time-lapse movie with two locations side-by-side."
So I just installed it on some coworkers iMac's and MacBook Pro's, then hid the application, and now I am spying on them all from a different side of the building.
So very evil, so very fun.

One Red Paperclip is so brilliant and retarded at the same time I am amazed I didn't think of it.
"My name is Kyle MacDonald and I am trying to trade one red paperclip for a house. I started with one red paperclip on July 12th, 2005 and I am making a series of trades for bigger or better things. My current item up for trade is one afternoon with Alice Cooper. Do you want to spend one afternoon with Alice Cooper? Pop your offer over to me at (oneredpaperclip@gmail.com) or give me a shout at 310-689-8867. (If you can't get through - please send a text message) You can see the current offers here. I live in Montreal Canada but will go anywhere in the world for the right offer."
So he started with one red paperclip, which he traded for a fish shaped pen. The pen was traded for a door handle which was in turn traded for an old coleman camping stove. The stove was traded for a beatup red generator but that got traded for a keg of beer and a neon sign. The beer and sign combo got him a snowmobile. The snowmobile was traded for a trip to someplace called Yahk which was (smartly) traded for a moving van. The van got traded up for a recording contract which was turned into a year without rent in Phoenix. And finally, that year in phoenix was traded for a day with Alice Cooper. Just damn cool.

Beauty and Chaos is a really cool web-based white-board of sorts. At any given time you can just start drawing, as the 20 or so other connected people do the same. Of course you get idiots scribbling over your art or drawing offensive pictures, but just refresh and everything begins anew.
